Borrowed it for two weeks and sped through it. One second listen through because I liked it that much and wanted to pick up on some things I missed.
BBC produced a miniseries in the 70s called Connections, which showed the connector (duh) between seemingly unrelated ideas/objects. How We Got to Now is much like this in that it took broad subject areas (clean, sound) and wove an interconnected story about the evolution of those subjects.
I found this quite fascinating and learned quite a bit from it. Feeling better prepared to play Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit now.
