This was a very interesting book--relating early man's "needs" to our current "desires" and how the food culture has helped us all fall into the "pleasure trap". Interesting references and easy reading--not written like a science manual, but as information for the general public to understand and utilize in our daily living.

This book gives a fascinating look at how our current food situation does not fit with our natural design, and how this has lead to all of the obesity, depression, heart disease, diabetes, etc that the vast majority of humans struggle with. Lisle shows us how we can prevent these very diseases that many people see as inevitable.
My only complaint with this book is that it seemed quite repetitive to me, although I'm sure this was intentional to make it easier for the reader who is completely new ...more
