Must be something in the air this week, this is the second Western Romance that I’ve read this week and LOVED it! The best part, I don’t read Western Romances.

In Roping Love by Tamara Hoff, we follow the story of Carrie Stewart, who had her heartbroken by Chance Ryan, ten years earlier. After running into each other at a rodeo, both are going to have to deal with things left unsaid between them. We get to see past history in a series of fastback.

If was funny getting to read Roping Love because from the start I could see myself walking in Carrie's shoes. It made me remember what it is like to feel that fear, anger, trepidation and the hint of excitement when running into an old flame who's ember you still carry deep down inside.

Getting to experience the life of a circuit through Tamara's eyes is fascinating because she does it unlike any other. She gives you the genuine element and brings you into the scene flawlessly.

Roping Love is an adult heart-warming western romance with a sense of erotica.

Cowboy Chance sure did rope and reel Carrie in a decade earlier but can he do it again? She fell for him and gave herself to him, and yet he left her feeling abandoned. Chance didn’t pick up or return Carrie’s calls, making her feel like a used fool. Carrie never completely understood what happened between them and had to carry on with her life by throwing everything she had into her horses. Carrie never completely understood what happened between them and had to carry on with her life by throwing everything she had into her horses. She bred them and trained them. They were her life.

However, after keeping away from the Showmanships and the All American Quarter Horse Congress all of this time, it was Carrie’s nephew, Tyler, who encouraged her to take him and go to the Congress. After reluctantly agreeing, and thinking it now unlikely that she would see Chance, it just so happened that she unknowingly walked straight back into his life. Angry, hurt and destroyed she wanted nothing to do with him.

It is so easy for the reader to sympathise with Carrie and fight her corner all the way. On the other hand, Chance is hot and all he wants is an opportunity to explain. So what do you say, guys? Should Carrie hear him out or leave him out?

The tragedy is that although he had his reasons for not continuing their relationship they both paid for it in their own ways. Now they are given another chance but will it happen this time round?

When it comes to attention to detail Tamara Hoffa is fantastic. Although a little ignorant of horse-rearing/showing myself Tamara does explain this subject in detail. For me, there was slightly too much description in this area as I prefer a little more action and dialogue but if you love a descriptive style of writing you’ll feel the complete setting and enjoy every second of this heartfelt story.

Although a very short story there is enough time for the drama to build and the reader to get to know the characters. Tamara Hoffa goes out to all lengths to ensure that the eroticism is hot, sensual and pulse-raising. The tension and momentum are perfect and reels the reader in. Maybe I am a little greedy as I was hoping for another saucy scene later on and was a little disappointed when that wasn’t to be.

Roping Love is extremely short and could have offered a little more if made into a full length novel with possible sub plots including Chance’s brother, Chase. However, I did enjoy this little tale and would like to read more of Tamara Hoffa’s work.

Roping Love by Tamara Hoffa is short even for a novella. I think it would be impossible to have a story this short and not feel a bit rushed, but it wasn’t unbelievable. It felt more like someone took a long book and summarized in 38 pages. It was done well, though. I think the high points were highlighted and nothing important was left out.

She’s taken that expertise and love for horses and turned it into a successful breeding and training program. So, what if she has never made time for love? She has her nephews and her horses, which is exactly why she is in this mess. Her nephew convinced her to take him to The All American Quarter Horse Congress, which is the last place she wants to be. Going back to the very place where her 18 year old heart was torn from her chest seems like a bad idea. What are the chances that he would be there after all this time?

Chance Ryan can not believe his eyes when he sees Carrie coming toward him. After all these years she is still beautiful and still makes his heart beat out of his chest. 10 years ago they had one amazing summer and one amazing night and then he just disappeared from her life. She tried calling him, but his sense of pride and his need to protect her kept him from taking her calls or returning her messages. Fate has presented him a gift and he has a “real” life to offer her now. He’ll stop at nothing to gain back her trust and her heart.

As I said, this is a very short story, but a good read. You could finish it in less than an hour easily, so it would be a perfect read for a long wait somewhere. If I were asked to describe this book with a short phrase it would be no muss, no fuss - Short, sweet and to the point.

A well written, and quite spicy, story about one of those rarities in life: a man that will admit he was wrong.

I really enjoyed the story, the characters, and the plot. It moved smoothly and never got jarring or overly sentimental. The couple was realistic, the dialog tight, and the sex quite toasty. An enjoyable mature story about a couple who fate throws back together for one more chance at happiness.

This beautifully-written novella had a complex plot and plenty of heat. I loved the details about rodeo, roping and horses. The book has been well researched and that lent authenticity to the story as well as the characters. The story is about two people who fell in love young and got separated by life situations for ten years. I won’t spoil it by revealing any more of the plot. Roping Love is a smooth flowing wonderful tale. I was amazed at the information Tamara was able to pack in in such a short tale. Carrie and Chance were well rounded enjoyable characters. Chance was noble and wanted happiness for Carrie, but luckily Chance's brother wanted what was best for his brother, even if it took years to bring them together.

This well written story is about a ‘second chance’ at love, no pun intended because the main character is named Chance. Anyway, life gets complicated but this sweet, short romance has a heroine with lots of heart and a hero with pride. Plus a lot of miscommunication but with a satisfying ending things work out for Carrie and Chance.

Loved, loved, loved this story! One tiny problem, Tamara....the Indiana State Fair is always in August, not over the 4th of July. Could not put this down!
