Constance, Norma and Fleurette Kopp find themselves in a bit of a pickle after their buggy is hit by a wild driver. Turns out the car is part of a rogue bunch of thugs, and trying to get money from the kingpin of the group leads them to a bigger plot, danger and significant harassment. Resolution of the situation takes bravery and a strong ally in the county sherrif. The story of the Kopp sisters is interesting in itself, as is the side plot about Lucy's baby.

I absolutely loved that this book is based on real people and events. Fewer stars because the pacing was a little slow for me, and you can kind of tell that the mystery and the historical details are two separate things. The sections about Lucy were very after-thought to the story of Constance and her sisters facing down a group of bullies. That said, however, this just felt like first novel growing pains, so I have high hopes for the second book. The characters were vibrantly drawn and interest

I liked it. The plot was pretty flimsy but it wasn't annoyingly dumb. I read it all and enjoyed it. The characters and their back stories were generally pretty compelling. I will probably read the next book in this series when it's available.

Not bad. Dragged on too long. Interesting characters. Sounds like the start of a series.
