What Members Thought
This book is interesting as long as you take time to think about it. I struggled to get through what felt like cheap shock horror, but subsequent conversation with my book club made me consider more deeply complicity and the role of the audience in this particular novel.
I read somewhere that the literally translated title is “The Silence Resounds,” which I much prefer. I think the translated title does the book a disservice.
