What Members Thought
This book is snappy and interesting. The universe feels complete, as if it would exist whether this book or story did or not, and it is brought to life with a portrayal of language and culture that I haven't seen before. That sense of scale is helped by characters who come across as smart as they should be, and the dialogue just hops off the page. The plot itself feels secondary to the themes of colonization and empire, with a serious slow-down in the middle, but it does come together in really
