Listened to this on CD. Wonder if that's what made me turn up my nose. Cassie was either whining, saying everything with an exclamation point, or threatening to hurt someone--"if you don't . . . I had to really sit and think about this one. The book seemed to really drag, but it also provided some good "food for thought" moments. I keep thinking about that darn teddy bear, because somehow it keeps the readers hope alive, in that Cassie, Evan, Ben, Ringer, and little Sam will make it through the 5th wave.

Still currently reading this book but I LOVE IT. I love that its pace and the shifting POVs (even though the first few chapters I was kind of confused by it), and the suspense.

Ok so I finished this over a week ago now and I still love this book. It was exciting and interesting the whole way through.

The alien invasion was probably the most well crafted version of the apocalypse I have read or seen recently. The characters were well fleshed-out and believable. Honestly, I wasn't expecting all that much from the book, but I was duly impressed. Looking forward to the subsequent books. ...more
