2016 REview (4th Read):
Every time I read this, I am amazed at how much I love it. It's like I'm left with the memory of enjoying it, but I forget how really really good it is. From the very beginning I've been very honest about how this is my favorite of all her books, and how it is so much better than Twilight (and I actually am a fan of Twilight...the books, not the movies)
I am under no delusions about Stephenie Meyer's strengths or weakness as a writer. She may not be the best writer in the w ...more

The really weird thing is that it took me until almost the end of the book to realize I'd read it before. And I'm pretty sure I loved it the first time, so I'm not sure why I didn't remember.
Anyway, I liked this book much more than Meyer's "other series". It was so much for complex and with more interesting rounded characters.

The Host is an excellent book for anyone who loves Stephenie Meyer or science fiction. As someone who usually does NOT read science fiction, I was extremely hesitant to read this book when a friend told me to try it. However, after giving it a chance and getting past the first few confusing chapters I couldn't put it down! Excellent story and I hope there's a sequel!

I was pleasantly surprised to learn this book is very unlike the other novels written by this same author. If I hadn't been told this was the same woman who had written Twilight, I would've honestly believed this was someone else entirely. The story is great, the writing is good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I hope she publishes more novels like this one.

This was an interesting read. I wasn't exactly sure how it was going to end. The alien part at the beginning gross me out a little, but otherwise it wasn't too sci-fi. It was a little long.
