In some respects, I liked it better than Twilight, but it was still too optimistic for me.

It took me a bit longer to get into The Host than the Twilight books but once in the book took off and spun in many directions all imaginative, creative and full of human emotion. Meyer needs to keep up the pace of her writing and since she seems to enjoy it, she needs to get back to work!
