REREAD 5/1/24
I read this again because I really wanted to finish the series and I didn't remember a lot hat happened in this book. I still really enjoyed it and I'm happy to get reacquainted with the characters again. I still loved them all


I have been reading a bunch of really good books. It makes me so excited and keeps me wanting more and more. I have books to read before I can pick up the next book in this series but I will start The Dream Thieves very soon. I loved the psychic women in this

I really enjoyed this audiobook. Let me just say that this narrator, Will was fantastic. He did different voices and I always knew who he was before announcing it. I feel like it really made the book for me. I'm not sure I would've had the same experience had I actually read it. The plot was pretty good. It all comes together at the end, yet I still have some questions which, I'm assuming will be answered in the next book in the series. ...more

After seeing Maggie Stiefvater at National Book Festival I could not wait to read The Raven Boys. Like The Scorpio Races, this book is infused with folklore that adds such a rich background to her novels. Blue Sargent lives with her mother and other random psychic women who conduct readings. Blue, although not psychic herself, creates an energy field that adds to the paranormal experiences. I've heard so much hype about this book, so maybe my expectations affected my reading.

I found the book a rough read. I wasn't into the characters as much as I wanted to be. They felt shallow, and I wasn't able to find anything interesting in them that I was drawn to. Their backgrounds felt unoriginal and so I couldn't connect to them.

The plot itself promises some interesting mystery, but I felt that it wasn't well paced. The dialogue scenes were laden down with explanations and the descriptions
