I really enjoyed this audiobook. Let me just say that this narrator, Will was fantastic. He did different voices and I always knew who he was before announcing it. I feel like it really made the book for me. I'm not sure I would've had the same experience had I actually read it. The plot was pretty good. It all comes together at the end, yet I still have some questions which, I'm assuming will be answered in the next book in the series. ...more

Re-read. Loved it even more the 2nd time. The world Maggie creates with the imperfect characters and how they fit together works. I was completely drawn into their small Virginia town with a fancy private school and the outsiders. I loved how this describes the group, ”so comfortable with one another that they allowed no one else to be comfortable with them.” Nothing original there until the magic of their quest in finding the ley lines and a sleeping Welsh King gets thrown into the mix. Shelves: i-own-this, fantasy, ya, not-recommended

I've heard so much hype about this book, so maybe my expectations affected my reading.

I found the book a rough read. I wasn't into the characters as much as I wanted to be. They felt shallow, and I wasn't able to find anything interesting in them that I was drawn to. Their backgrounds felt unoriginal and so I couldn't connect to them.

The plot itself promises some interesting mystery, but I felt that it wasn't well paced. The dialogue scenes were laden down with explanations and the descriptions ...more
