What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the inside of Maggie Stiefvater's brain. Who takes a tiny little Welsh legend and turns it into this wonderfully wild story about four private school boys and one failed psychic hunting for a long dead Welsh King, who when woken, can grant a wish like a genie?

What??? If it sounds incredibly amazing, that's because it is.

WOW!!! I think I read the second half with my eyes bugged out and my mouth hanging open. It did start out slow. At 40% in, I would have given it 3 stars. The second half was amazing. The characters are flawed, real and likable even when they are stubborn and frustrating. I love the cast of characters and can't wait to see where the story takes them. I can't wait to start book 2. ...more

Better than I expected, even with the "love triangle." I had been avoiding this series for a while because of "Shiver" which was too much with the insta-love. I'm glad that I finally took the plunge since there are interesting elements such as ley lines, psychics, and ghosts.
