Re read August 2016

I’m so glad I decided to re-read the series before reading Winter and Stars Above. Cinder has been as enjoyable and exciting as the first time I read it in 2012 and I can’t wait to continue with Scarlet and Cress. The Lunar Chronicles is an epic space adventure that nobody should miss and I couldn’t be happier to be reunited with these characters.

Aaahhh!!! Tenía mis dudas pero al final Cinder me ha gustado tanto como la primera vez que lo leí. Me he emocionado,

Wow. Just wow. I am very, very late to the Lunar Chronicles fandom train, but better late then never I guess!

I am so surprised with how much I adored this book that is so out of my normal reading realm. Sci-fi, high fantasy, future is not my thing, but Cinder hooked me anyway. I absolutely adored her wit. All of the supporting characters fit do well, even the ones I don't like! I am now chomping at the bit to get my hands on the rest of the series!

This book took me a while to get into, but once I did, I was hooked. It's by far my favorite, most original retelling of Cinderella I've ever read. I really enjoyed it. It was fairly predictable, and I knew who Cinder was from the very beginning, but who cares? When it's a good story, sometimes the predictability doesn't matter! ...more

Anyone who know me knows I am a sucker for a Cinderella story almost to the point of obsession, and this one was no different. I love the world she created and I love the tie in to the fairy tail. I think one of my favorite things about this series is how each of the books simultaneously follows a classic fairy tale while tying into the previous book, while also coming up with an entirely new story altogether. Pretty clever.

A fun, unique twist on the Cinderella tale. Meyers did a nice job at making this old story fresh. You route for Cinder, though society and all odds seem against her.
