Bueno, esperaba que ésta fuera una lectura creepy para Halloween, pero nop. Lo más creepy de Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children son las fotografías que acompañan la narración, pero ésta, aunque quiere impregnarse de esa atmósfera extraña que desprenden las imágenes del libro, no acaba de conseguirlo.

I hadn't read many reviews of this one beforehand and I'm really glad I didn't. This was so NOT what I was expecting. Based on the name and the cover, I thought this would be a creative, middle-grade tale of oddities and adventure. I was so very pleasantly surprised with the dark twists and turns through which I was taken by this extremely creative tale. I like this book. I will admit I saw the movie first and am very pleased that the book ending makes a heckuva lot more sense. It starts slow but ends big. Jacobs adventure is just starting and I'll read the next book to see where he goes.... and find out if he ever chooses to return home. He has good reason not to after all, but still... Good read!
