I couldn't help but kind of root for Barron in this book. He is still pitiful and not to be trusted, but I felt sorry for him in a way I never did before. In this book Cassel finds himself between a rock and hard place. He is trying to turn his life around, be a good person and put his past behind him. He tries to figure out who he can trust. I adored this series. Honestly it's one of my favorites by her. Aside from The Cruel Prince series, I feel Cassel Sharp is one of her deepest characters. There were layers to him that I truly have never seen in her characters in other works I've read by her.
