I really enjoyed this one, although at first I almost DNF. The story grabbed me, then it pumped me full of good stuff and weirdness and I wasn't quite sure where it was going. The Madrigal thing with Akiva was an original turn off and a lot of the story wasn't really explained well enough during the first half. This started off really good, but from around page 100 or so to the middle of the 300s, it got really boring and dragged for quite a bit.
I already bought the last two since it started out so strong, but I may or may not read them.
