What Members Thought

Definitely not the strongest in the series but I still think it is worth reading. Rick wrote these books in order to keep his dyslexic, ADD son interested in reading. After he had exhausted telling his son the Ancient Greek myths his son asked him to make his own myth. The books in both Percy Jackson series follow the pattern of myth seen in those ancient stories. Which will make you either love the books or hate them. Keep reading they the second series is amazing!

This has some similarities to the HP series but there's enough differentiation to make this a distinctively different world to escape into.
It's a well-detailed story of adolescent self-discovery overlaid with the Greek Gods and mythology as the base for this "new" world. It's enjoyably fast-paced and a great audiobook to listen to during work commutes. ...more
