I was very excited to get back into this world and I was not disappointed. Suren is the exact character I would have chosen to get a spin off if I had chosen, and I'm so glad that that is what we got. I love Suren/Wren whatever she is called. I was so intrigued by her as a child in the original trilogy, and seeing her years later was so fun, though just as dark and twisted as I expected. (view spoiler) ...more

I really enjoyed going back into the world of Elfhame created by none other than Holly Black.

I really enjoyed seeing Prince Oak as an adult and his and Wren’s relationship as it blossoms, but as per Holly Black fashion, there’s always a plot twist that will have you hanging for book 2 of this duology.

Highly recommended; it has all the usual things you love about Holly Black’s books; intrigue, politics, high stakes, danger at every turn and as usual it is written beautifully and the world is fill ...more

I love how she pulls a character out of the shadows and make her shine. I was really hoping to see more of Jude and Cardan but this was wonderful. Great to see Oak all grown up.
