This a great book and i am so happy I decided to read it even after having seen the movie a couple weeks ago. It was merely by accident that I found it on a shelf were i was vacationing and read it in a few days. it is a short and relatively to the point but a multi layered story with lots of meaning. Watching the movie adaptation of a book before one reads the book on which the movie is based can be a curious thing. It can serve to enhance reading the book or it can serve to show what a bad adaptation the movie was. I saw Baz Luhrmann's take on Gatsby before I read this book and for me, it helped to enhance reading the book. I have read this over and over again. The first time was in High School for Ms. Stewart's Honor's English class. I liked it then and I like it now. The images created have stuck in my mind and I keep wondering what really happened with Daisy.
