I have been looking forward to this book since I first heard about it. Unfortunately, it fell pretty flat. I like the characters okay, but the story didn't really move. The best parts were the flashbacks, but the present time didn't really do anything for me. I didn't feel that the main character grew or really helped people by the magical connection. It was disappointing. The story idea is great. I would like to see what else this author can do. ...more
