If I wasn't needing this book for a challenge I would have DNF'd this book. I hated the MC so much. I just didn't care about Zuri or any part of her story. I did however like her sisters and her grandma. i also liked her family dynamic.

My biggest problem was the gigantic chip Zuri has towards white people and towards those who are rich. She jumped to all kinds of conclusions about Darius and his family. Darius and Ainsley Darcy moved into the house across the street from Zuri and they are wealth ...more

This modern take on a classic novel is a fun way to visit the original storyline in a more relatable way. I adore Zuri's family! They are loud, bossy, up in your face, and totally loyal to each other. They are awesome!
