Alwyn Hamilton is not just a talented storyteller. She is a graphic scene maker and a director.

She doesn't just describe the situations in which her protagonist finds herself, she makes you feel you are an part of the whole scene, like you are actually in Amani's shoes.

This was so good! I am always wary of middle books in trilogies, since they are usually a little pointless and seem to only be stretching the plot from book one to book three, but I honestly thought this was even better than the first book.

We pick up the story a few months after the events of the first book and are thrown right into awesome action with Amani. We slowly learn what happened in the missing time between books and get to know a lot of new characters along with many old ones. (view s ...more
