OMGosh this book was FANfreakinTASTIC!!!! I loved it, I hated it, then loved it again. This book made me so mad I could spit...lol...not really but close. Then it made me so happy and sad and you name it I ran the gamete of emotions for this 3rd and final book in an amazing INCREDIBLE sci-fi journey. I am so glad my daughter convinced me to pick it up and try it out. I never would have thought for a second that I was ever going to be into a sci-fi series but this one made me want MORE.

Wow, no words can express my love for this series. If I had to choose my love for the Aurora Rising series and the Illuminae series...I would have to go with Illuminae hands down. Even though I am obsessed with the Aurora Rising series by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman.

Wow, no words can express my love for this series. If I had to choose my love for the Aurora Rising series and the Illuminae series...I would have to go with Illuminae hands down. Even though I am obsessed with the Aurora Rising series by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman.

One of the many things that makes this series stand out against all other YA sci-fi novels, is the formatting. We are given such an amazing format with forensic files, DM messages, coding, surveillance camera footage, and more. It's like looking into one of those government files with things bleeped out and covered in black ink! It definitely was a turn from many books and that's why it enraptured my attention in the first place.

In this final installment in the Illuminae Files, we are thrown a lot of shit and a lot of characters. Our rag tag team is all together and pushing to take down the BeiTech company once and for all. So they set out on a mission like no other. We have Kady and Ezra, Hanna and Nik, and a new set of characters coming in Asha and Rhys. I absolutely love the diversity in the characters. Especially with the women. We are given strong women, some more mattered than others. We see Hanna finally coming to the reality that her father is dead. Kady who really doesn't know who to trust, and the new player Asha who literally has witnessed the worst genocide and could be next.

This book tore my heart out. In so many different ways. I swear Kaufman and Kristoff like to send their readers to the ER or something. They purposefully give us anxiety attacks with their writing. And yet we love them.

It's been so long since I honestly have read a YA trilogy and have given EVER SINGLE BOOK a 5 star rating. I mean, am I broken? ... Nah I just really loved this f*cking series.

Plot is a HUGE thing for me. And once again I am so intrigued with Kaufman and Kristoff for being able to write an amazing plot through the format that they went through. Now I know, you can write a plot through DM's and video surveillance. We, as readers, are given so much at once. And yes, at times it can be very difficult and confusing. And while I would have preferred there not being so much jumping around with character POV's, we would never have gotten the whole story otherwise.

This series has been one of my favorite reads of the year by far. I honestly feel like it could keep going on forever...just because that would be awesome. More Nik and Hanna - please and thank you! ...more

I’m going to need another week to get over the ending of this series. It’s been so amazing, and emotional, and perfect. I don’t know how to deal with the fact that it’s over... except to reread it.

I LOVE this book and the entire series! The Illuminae Files are now at the top of my list of favorite series for young adults! They are fantastic! They have adventure, love, ethics, space battles, science, combat, friendship, survival, and so much more! I would recommend this series to anyone looking to start a new book relationship. You won't regret it! :) ...more

This was a fun time, and a good conclusion overall. It was a lot darker than I thought it would be, which was nice. I just didn’t connect as much with Asha and Rhys than I did with the leads of the previous books.

Still had a blast reading this, though.

You guys. This series was so good. The Illuminae Files have everything that I love in sci-fi. Great characters, fast paced plot, space ships, betrayel and more. This was a great ending to a great series. It gave us some new characters (I love Asha!) and caught us up with the previous main characters. We had the same face paced- edge of your seat- plot that kept me GLUED to the book, so much so that I read the last 350 pages in one sitting. I really appreciated that it tied up loose ends and left ...more

I am rating this a 4.5-4.75 stars. The only ding that I am giving it is that I didn't enjoy the two main characters in this book as I did the main characters in the other two. This was a very satisfying ending to a series that I adore. I loved the way Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff were able to weave the story lines together so perfectly.
