THIS REVIEW WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS.

It took me over two years to read this book and I have no clue why. I was eager to dive into Cassian and Nesta's love story. I loved all the angst and little moments that they had throughout the series thus far. Perhaps I was a little nervous because when it really came down to it I just didn't like Nesta. Apt time to finish a book with a monstrous page count like this one, the day before a final exam.

Mostly felt very "eh" about this one, I could barely remember the events that happened in the trilogy that came sequentially before this. However, there's something so familiar about Sarah J. I really enjoyed this novel, much more than I excepted. Nesta was not a sympathetic character, but she truly redeemed herself through her trials and most importantly learning from them. I know this was a love story between Nesta and Cassian, but I found that I loved the connection she found with her newfound girlfriends. This was a novel of trauma, healing and looking beneath the surface of others. I could not put this novel down and it’s been awhile since I have felt this way.
