I’ve been reading the Shadowhunter books since they first came out, so every time I pick one up is like curling up with a familiar blanket. These stories bring out so much nostalgia for me, if that makes sense.

I really enjoyed this one. I had a few minor issues (the one-dimensional villains and just a few situations that were really easily fixed and other tiny problems) but it wasn’t enough to take away from the rating (for now, the five stars is a bit tentative).

First of all... can I just say OH MY GOD?
I went in with an open mind since I haven’t read anything Shadowhunter related in years. I started this series in December of 2018 and was instantly transported back into the world. It encouraged me to give TID (The Infernal Devices a Chance) despite it being a genre I wasn’t a fan of.

Onto this book?
- Blackthorn family dynamic is still A+++
- Those ships (not going to spoiler? But go read it and we’ll scream together)
- Shadowhunters and Downworld interact
