"Sometimes you can do everything right and things will still go wrong.  The key is to never stop doing right."

This is one of those books that I knew I would like but was honestly scared to read it.  I knew the subject matter and knew it would be emotional.  But that's the thing about great books, right?  The stories with real issues are supposed to make you uncomfortable.  I will try my hardest to not turn this review into a political rant.

Hauntingly beautiful, from the perspective of one of the most silenced groups in the United States: a black woman. It is a must read.
