I was so excited to read this because, well, new Harry Potter stuff to read. It's a screenplay, so that took a bit getting used to, and I very quickly felt like this was published so just money could be made. It read like fan fiction. There's not really any new info here, the characters aren't really themselves. Harry is a jerk, a bully, and just plain mean. We got to reunite with characters of old and meet some fun new characters as well. I don't want to spoil anything, so I'm not going to talk about the plot, but let's just say I enjoyed it. Not that Harry does not appear in the book, he is absolutely crucial to the events that transpire.

Many people consider this story fan fiction. For me I think, so what if it is fa

If this book/script was a standalone, I think that I would have rated it higher. The script was entertaining and exciting, but I don't feel like it fits with the rest of the series, nor do I feel like it should be canon for the Harry Potter series. It was a great read and I'm glad I read it, but I was expecting more from something with J.K. Rowling's name attached to it. ...more
