Coraline is a very bored girl. Her parents both work at home but are caught up in their own work and seem to ignore her. She is unhappy with her life and is drawn to a door her mother shows her that is bricked up behind it. So on impulse she opens it and the bricks are gone and she is drawn into a sinister parallel world that seems better and more interesting but is really dangerous.
