While I really enjoyed Amy and Roger's Epic Detour as a whole, the ending felt a little forced. Frankly, I didn't really get the sense of them as a couple--they just felt more like friends to me. I thought it odd that the author made Amy open up first to virtual strangers ( Waldorp, I think his name was; and Lucien, who was ADORABLE), rather than Roger. Loved this story. Amy loses her father and all you know is there was an accident and she doesn't like to talk about. They are moving to a different state and Roger (A friend of the families son) is taking the journey with her. Her mom is already getting the new house ready. Amy and Roger are pretty much strangers at first but of course they become close. I liked the road-trip aspect of this book. It was fun to revisit some places I've actually been to and to discover some new locations as well. I also liked how music played into the telling of the story. There were some parts of the ending that weren't my favorite, but overall a fun read. 2.5 stars. ...more
