A coming of age novel that evokes Hemingway in it's dialogue. This is a beautiful coming-of-age story that is too often marginalized. Figuring out who we are as people can be be very painful. Saenz tells a story of anger and fear and pain and finally understanding and self-acceptance. I was moved to tears multiple times while reading this. Both tears of joy and sorrow. My dogs were very worried about me.

It was good. At times it was slow and I wasn't sure where the story was going, but the ending was great. Overall nice story about figuring out who you are. ...more
