This book was okay, I didn't feel like the end really wrapped up for me, I wanted to know what happened to the town after the boy left. I know there is a sequel and it has him in it, but I don't know if it wraps up those loose ends. If you want a book that makes you think a little, this is really good. ...more

I read this book when I was teaching 4th graders. I did not enjoy it and felt it was too dark for elementary school students.
