2021: I don't know what the hell was wrong with me, I love Sydney!
Added 9/2/2019: After my third read I can add that I appreciate Sydney more as an MC when I stop trying to compare her to Rose. I've come to really appreciate Sydney, though she doesn't really start to shine until the subsequent books.

Oh gosh!
I thought I only loved Vampire Academy and Rose but Bloodlines was so good, too!
Sydney was quite a tough heroine, one I enjoyed reading about.
I even actually thought I can identify better with Bloodlines' main heroine and narrator.
Although I'd love to be like Rose and take action, fight for my life and the lives of those I love, respect etc etc, Sydney proved to be a little closer to my personality, or to what I'd like to be. She's tough in her own way. She's even scary without using any ...more

On reread- so, compared to Vampire Academy, I barely remember what happens in this series at all. I've only read it once and I haven't thought about it much since my first read. But it's still so fun. I love Adrian so much. Sydney grows on me with every book, as does Jill. I remembered the broad strokes of this book, mainly who the bad guys were, but I didn't remember how any of it went down. I started book 2 as soon as I finished this, so it's safe to say that these are as addicting as vampire

I just couldn't finish this one. I've read several of the Vampire Academy series and really like them. However, I just couldn't get into this one.
