I really like this, love it no. I never read the books when they came out I was in elementary or middle school I don't remember. Although I did watch the movies the movies were really good the actors were spot on with the characters except certain features. The hype around this book it understandable but I like being a quiet fan. Going into the book and I'm sure this comments on the certain characters I'm going to talk about will get people angry. But that's my opinion and only mine so Harry I consider him and adventure seeker since he never was able to do that with his aunt and uncle, plus having a cousin who bullied him every single time. I like Harry, in the age he is in this book it is something kids will do. Now Ron, he is funny kid. I really like him he is the kinda kid that always honest without making things bad or good. He is the kid that will seek adventure but at the sametime question it, if it is a good idea or not. Now Hermione, here comes my controversial opinion since people seem to like her a lot. Okay, here goes for me Hermione in this book was consider a know-it-all, always demanding people to do good for the house that would included always follow rules, study hard and get good grades. I get it is a competition and she want to prove people that the house is good and should be perfect and because she is human she needs to show everyone she knows magic. But I believe that's the cause of her not getting friends especially when your a kid and are a know-it-all, kids tend to not like those kind of kids. I was expecting her to get out of her comfort zone. She did though slowly but still being herself I like that about her and she even earn two great friends. She still has a annoying habit of bring that know it all thing. But Ron and Harry understand her and don't care about that which is cute. The story and plot is amazing, very descriptive it reminds me of the movie. Writing is good no problem easy to read for younger audience and adults. Will continue the series and maybe even follow its fanbase but will be the quiet one. ...more
