Average. Not as good as "Firewall". I found it to verbose and a tad melodramatic. I found the scenes with Biba and his musings about Latvia to be fillers for an average mystery book. I do enjoy Mankell but he sometimes wanders away from the theme. I do not know if he does it to meet a goal of the number of pages in a book or he want to expound on a pet social issue. I plan to read all of the Wallander novels.

Good Police Procedural - I started with the second book in the series because it was in the library but I'll read more of the series. Not quite Stieg Larsson, but if you need a Swedish detective fix, this will do.
