This is the second book I read all by myself as a child, and I've been loving it ever since.
I was the first child-reader in my family and there weren't children-books in the house to pass along, so when I finished the first book that was gifted to me I turned to my mother libray, climbed on a chair and start picking out books. Avevo letto questo libro credo al Liceo, e l’avevo trovato semplicemente noioso. Poi ecco che la sfida Random Classic mi ha dato lo spunto per provare con una rilettura. Che per la verità mi andava di fare da un po’, dopo aver letto commenti estremamente lusinghieri su questo libro qui. Anche sulla copertina della mia edizione ci sono delle citazioni, una di Faulkner e una della Pivano, che lo ritengono il libro miglio di Hemingway (non per niente ci ha vinto sia il Pulitzer che il Nobel). I was told it's a very sad book. I picked it up when I figured it couldn't make things worse, and OMG I was blown away. This book actually gave me strength and filled me with hope. I looked up the ending about halfway through because I wondered if the old man would die in the end. (view spoiler)
