Leggere la Austen è come ritrovare una vecchia amica. Adoro le sue storie, i suoi personaggi, il suo stile.
L'abbazia di Northanger è il suo primo romanzo (anche se pubblicato postumo) e in qualche modo si vede la differenza, sembra un po' meno "maturo".
Cosa mi è piaciuto: lo stile sarcastico e ironico, la critica alla superficialità, l'eroina che è, stranamente per la Austen, una vera e propria anti-eroina: non particolarmente intelligente, né bella, né interessante, e poi Henry Tilney, il gen ...more

Nella mia profonda ignoranza (non ho mai letto nulla della Austen...) dico che questo romanzo m'è piaciuto. Mi ha sorpreso il tono ironico che usa e la caricatura delle vicende e dei personaggi, è divertente e sicuramente qualche risata ve la farà fare. Mi aspettavo giusto un po' più di scene dedicate al romanzo gotico, ma per il resto soddisfattissima.
