Shelves: purpose
I have to admit that (aside from Pushkin) I've read very few books by non-white people. This is definitely my first one that actively centers black characters and their experiences.
It's not an easy read linguistically nor emotionally.
I think most already know that the book deals with racism, misogyny/mysogynoir, violence, internalized homophobia. It's very raw.
I'm hesitant to criticize such a great work but there's some ableist language and in generally some unexamined ableism. Also, the binaris

Quando inizi a leggere questo libro, inizi anche a conoscere Celie, una giovane ragazza e, in seguito, donna del profondo Sud degli Stati Uniti (precisamente Georgia).
Quando si inizia a leggere, non si può non rimanere colpiti dal trattamento che viene riservato alle donne: oggetti, solo semplici oggetti utili solamente a pulire e a cucinare o buone per essere barattate con altre merci al miglior offerente.

Un romanzo molto bello per alcuni versi, ma per altri beh...non mi ha convinta.
