This is a rare novel that makes me feel as if my emotions are not my own. In fact I feel that I have given them over, completely, to Taylor Jenkins Reid. I knew this would be a good book but I truly didn’t expect it to live up to the hype that has persisted for two years.

Fun! I was ready for a light book. This fit the bill. It was well written and stayed just shy of the Lifetime channel romance/soap opera so that I wasn't embarrassed to be reading it. A solid summer read.

The author does a great job creating a believable Hollywood icon, complete with iconic dresses and movie scenes. At times I wanted to go online and find the dresses and scenes she described, as if they actually existed in real life. The plot also moves along nicely, but I thought all the twists and complications toward the end (no spoilers, don't worry) got to be a little much.
