At first, I absolutely hated this book. I thought the writing was horrible and the characters made me ill. Ana had no backbone, and Christian was a demanding prick. I wasn't sure I was going to even be able to finish this, or continue past 25%. But then something happened. Somewhere along the reading road, I became slightly addicted. I found I needed to know what happened next. It was somewhat akin to driving by a car accident, or watching a James Dean movie: I had to watch/read.

The writing is simplistic and the book characters were hard to connect with
It took me so long to read this because I kept setting it aside because I had better things to read. Such terrible, terrible writing, and yet I felt oddly compelled to finish reading it and I may end up reading the next two. And I don't know why.

Very curious about how Christian 's character develops...The writing however is for the pits...lots of british terms for a story that takes place in portland and seattle...we'll see how book 2 and 3 pan out...

I LOVED this book!!! It's so bad and so good at the same time... I laughed, cried, and had some "oh my... Wow!" moments... Christian Grey has left me smitten, can't wait to read more.... Laters, baby.
