What Members Thought
This has been the perfect book for the past two weeks. Have been dealing with rain, flooding, washed out roads/bridges, have not been able to just sit and read. Just a chapter here, a chapter there. This story is told by opening a window onto Emma and Dexter 's lives July 15th each year, St Swithin's Day being the day their long friendship began.

This book was absolutely brilliant. The writing was really smart and fresh and quite witty. The characters were flawed and imperfect. I also liked the style - checking in with the characters on the same day every year? Very nice and different.

The only weird thing about this book is that I didn't feel like there was much of the local dialect in the book. It was set throughout various parts of Europe, so why no local sayings or slang? ...more

There are no words to describe how much I loved this book. It'll make you laugh and cry and reflect back on your life. It has been a long time since I have connected this strongly with a work of literature.
