Interesting story based on Vlad the Impaler, the Wallachian (Romanian) prince.
Very well researched Eastern Europe history and legends. The story takes us to many places such as Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey...
It raises the point of evil throughout the history of humanity, the vampire part is secondary.

Maybe a bit too long, but enjoyable.
