This is a very interesting book about about a part of history that I have never thought about but which impacts me all the time.

Anyone who is interested in history, seafaring or exploration should read this. It is a great story of how an ordinary person rose up without training to answer the most pressing question of the time. Yes he did not get his full acknowledgement but his discovery impacts us now.
