I think I made a mistake in spending a little too long comparing this to 1984. In any case, it just goes to show how jaded I am that the book didn't disturb me in the least; perhaps because the population was dehumanized in a way that makes sense compared to the world today, or perhaps because the only options Huxley explored were two extremes that I just don't see happening. ...more
