Grisham spends a great deal of time building the character and plot. His ending and resolution seems rushed. It wasn't Grisham's best work. It leaves with questions. He poses possibilities of people involved, but no definate answers. I don't think all endings have to reveal everything, but I felt that more answers or clues could have been presented.

The book started out weird from the start with 'Bennie', a covert agent of some sort blackmailing the protagonist, Kyle McAvoy without much back story from the author. I was intrigued by the blossoming romance between Kyle and Dale, both first year lawyers at a big firm in New York, but the book decided upon a different direction. Overall, I was satisfied into my first foray into John Grisham novels.
