This was the first Picoult novel I read, and suffice to say that I went on to read every other Picoult novel! Although this definitely remains one of my firm favourites.
The characters are strong, vivid, original and unique. They have so much depth and development, Picoult's writing really is stunning. The narrative is very emotional, and Picoult finds the perfect balance of giving the reader just enough to keep them deeply engaged, but not quite enough so they want to read more!
