Similar in tone to Larkswood, that I read earlier in the year, this manages to be a genuinely spooky book despite not having any actual ghosts. The whole concept of twisted twins is bound to create some chilling situations, and with murder, suicide and a deeply messed up family life too this is one to read on long winter evenings. I don't even feel like writing a review, the book doesn't worth it. In short- the 13th tale is boring, there is nothing special in it. Sometimes it felt like the author wasn't sure what story she wanted to tell, herself.
And it's nothing like Jane Eyre, I really don't see how some people compare the two.
I would never recommend this to a friend.
