Parts of this book I enhoyed immensely. And I really wanted to enjoy the whole thing since I heard nothing but good reviews. Unfortunately, I found parts to drag on and on. A lot of the paragraphs on Margaret's take on reading books were definitely "spot on". Other parts of the story just left me wanting to skip paragraphs. ...more

I went back and forth between a 2 and a 3 for the rating. Though it was quite an epic story I didn't really care for it. It was too dark for my tastes. I found that I could only read about a chapter at a time. Fans of gothic fiction would like this one, but they should keep in mind that it is disturbing. ...more
