A good book always teaches us something new. This one has played that role perfectly, giving the insight of life in 19th century China.
Although I had heard about foot binding before, I´ve never imagined how it looked like and what it meant. I just thought the women´s feet were smaller, but a normal shape and that they could walk without any problem. How naive!
