What Members Thought

I bought this book on a whim and I am so glad that I did. It turned out to be one of the best and most original novels I have ever read. It's not a book for people who are looking for a quick read or a happy ending, but it is breathtaking and will haunt you long after you finish reading it.

This book was beautiful. Oh my goodness to beautiful and sad. What a new look on WW2. The writing is so poetic and the story just flows smoothly. At first it was a struggle to get into it, but after I read 1oo pages or more I just read and didn't want to put it down.
The fact that is was narrated by Death was one of the most unique aspects of the book. Death describing his experiences were just so interesting and well told that I never wanted it to stop.

I had really high expectations going into this book because both my sisters and my mom LOVED and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED this book, so I am sad to say that it isn’t one of my all-time favorites. However, there are a lot of good aspects of the book.

technically this is not a review but I had to mention, this is one of those books whose characters will stay with long after you have forgotten the book.
I heard a lot about the book before I decided to read but was against reading it since it mentions young adult fiction. Glad that I did read it or would have missed on a book that is Well-written book, makes an interesting read, and love the characters. definitely recommend it.

I tried to read this but I had trouble following it. I also don't like books with foul language. It is mild, at least as far as I've read, but still pointless. Maybe I will pick it up again some other time.
