Enjoyed reading this book
I loved this book and have often suggested it to many readers since reading it in 2006! I am usually not a lover of books about animals, but really the story of water for elephants in a circus make the elephants not so important. It is the story telling of the old man that keep you raptured and yearning for more once you finish the book.

I loved this book. Jacob Jankowski was a wondrfully portrayed character and the tribulations he faced during his life. Marlena is beautiful and creative. August is a man suffering from pschitzophrenia which well written about in the book. I ws intrigued by circus life in the 1930's/1940's.
